♥ Shabby Chic iphone Case ♥

Woot! Woot! It's Friday!! We plan on laying by the pool and that's about it! Love these kind of weekends!! What are your plans??

I have been wanting to make my own iphone case for awhile now. I wanted a certain iphone case on Etsy that was made with white wood and had a teal color at the top but I was tired of paying $25 and up for cases! So using a simple $1 case and stamps, paper, glitter, pearls and gems that I already had, I finally made it! And since it was so cheap (and easy!) to make, I can now make one whenever I want! :)

I simply traced the cover onto a piece of the White Woodgrain paper from the Base Coat III Paper Pack by Kaiser. Trimmed it out and then double stamped the butterflies onto it. The Butterflies and the "Love" are from the Butterfly Friends Clear Stamp Set by Simon Says Stamp. I then added some Tumbled Glass Distress Ink to the top of the paper using the Mini Round Blending Tool. After it was dry, I then added some Glossy Accents over the ink and then some White Glitter. Then using some Aleene's Glue, I adhered the paper to the case.

Then I adhered some Recollections Gem Strips that I picked up in Michael's to the sides on the outside of the case. They have a rubbery feel to them, so it's perfect for the case because it makes the case non-slippery when holding it! I then finished it off by adding some pearls around the camera cut out and over the butterflies and a Prima Crystal Heart near the stamped Love. Easy Peasy, FUN and Cheap to make!! ;)

Before I go, I thought I'd share my front porch with you! I love how much the flowers are blooming even with it being so HOT here! That little John Deere wagon I picked up on Craigslist for FREE! I leave it there all year long and change it up for the seasons/holidays.

And along the wall in the front I simply purchased some pretty hanging baskets and removed the hangers and just placed them along the wall with a plastic tray underneath. They look really pretty draping over the side of the wall! :)

Enjoy your weekend!!

♥ Let's hang out ♥

It's HOT here!! 99 degrees yesterday and today is gonna be a scorcher too! Whew! Summer is definitely here a few days early! Starting today my son has half days of school until next Wednesday. Because of all the snow days they had this year, they are school longer to make them up. I can't wait for him to be home for Summer break!! I can't believe he is going into the 3rd grade already! It's so true when people say to enjoy your little ones because they grow up so quick! This picture feels like yesterday! :)

Today starts a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog! This week's challenge is...

                                        "You Gotta Have Friends!"

Friends are such an important part of our lives and we do need to cherish them. Lets make something especially for them and let them know how special they are to us.

This week the Simon Says DT are showcasing products by Art Impressions! I used the super cute Owl and Monkey Front and Back Mini Stamp Set. {It is not in stock at the moment but will be soon! There are some other cute AI Front and Back stamps in stock though! Check them out HERE!}I used the cute monkey from the set. Colored him in with some Distress Markers and then adhered the front and back of him inside a die cut circle on the card front.

I used the Woodland Branch Die and Tender Leaves Dies by Memory Box. I also used some Woodgrain Kraft Cardstock by Simon Says and the Wood patterned paper is from the Base Coat 12x12 Paper Pack by Kaiser. I finished it off with some White Pearls and Natural Twine.

Here is the back of the monkey! :)

And don't forget, the super sweet and generous Heidi will give the random winner of this challenge a $50 Credit Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Superstore! Good luck everyone!

♥ Simon Says Stamp July 2014 Card Kit Reveal! ♥

Happy Saturday everyone! Today is the 14th, so that means today is the big Card Kit Reveal at Simon Says Stamp! July's Card Kit, Sending Happy Mail is super cute!! Love the sweet stamp set, pretty Pink Paislee papers and stickers, cute adhesive stars, washi tape, and even a full size Simon Says Lipstick Red Ink Pad! I made 4 really simple cards with the kit that take literally minutes to make! Great for when you need a card really quick! Here we go!

For my 1st card, I used some of the cute polka dot paper and white cardstock that comes in the kit as well as the stars, washi tape and a simple stamped sentiment! Easy peasy!

Next up, this card uses the "hello" printed paper, the stars again, 1 of the cute "puffy" stickers that come in the kit and I stamped the hello stamp with the provided Red Ink. I then punched it out with a small scalloped edge punch. Using a slightly larger circle punch, I punched out a circle in the hello paper, added some of the blue cardstock behind it and then using pop dots added it to my base. I then adhered the hello into the circle. The twine does not come in the kit, but can be purchased Here! :)

Next, is a card I made using Kraft, the cute stamp set, washi and another cute sticker! Fast, easy and CUTE!

Last, I made this card using a cute Typewriter sticker and heart. The "Thinking of you" in blue is also a sticker. I finished it off with the stamped sentiment and a piece of Washi along the bottom.

Don't forget, you can pick up the July 2014 card kit HERE for just $24.95 + shipping. Or if you’d like to receive this kit and future kits for only $19.95 + shipping per month, you can subscribe here. When you subscribe you will receive kits delivered to your door automatically!

♥ Shabby Chic Stenciled Card ♥

Hi there! It's time for another challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog! This week we want to see Stencils! There are so many great stencils out there! They can be used with inks, paints, gesso, gelatos, etc.

This week the Simon Says DT are showcasing products by The Crafter's Workshop! I used the Gothic Romance 12x12 Stencil on my card. There are 4 great stencils on this 1 template but I only used 1 of them on my card. This stencil also comes in a 6x6 size as well. I first added some Distress Ink in Milled Lavender to a piece of Distress Cardstock using the Mini Round Blender Tool. I then used some White Gesso with the Stencil to give a raised look to my card. I then distressed the edges with a light brown ink.

The die cut butterflies and sentiment is from the Friendship Butterflies Stamp and Die Set Exclusively by Simon Says Stamp. I first die cut the larger butterfly using a Prima 12x12 Burlap Sheet. The 2nd butterfly was die cut using some of the Distress Cardstock and then inked with some Picked Raspberry Distress Ink. The smallest butterfly was die cut using some Simon Says Vintage Paper.

I also used the Large Heart Doily Die by Simon Says which I drenched in some Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter. I finished it off with some Prima roses, May Arts Twine, Pearls, Crystal Heart, lace trim and Antique Ruler Trim By Creative Impressions.

And don't forget, the super sweet and generous Heidi will give the random winner of this challenge a $50 Credit Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Superstore! Good luck everyone!
