Altered tin...distressing...love...family...paper...glitter...shabbiness. I'm in heaven! All my favorite things wrapped up in one sweet little keepsake. I had a couple of these house shaped cookie tins left over from Christmas (like the one I used for my Gingerbread House) and wanted to make something with it that I could keep out all year long. So this is what I came up with!
I distressed some beautiful papers by Echo Park, October Afternoon and Making Memories with my paper distresser and brown inks along all my edges. Adhered them to my house. Added some Prima flowers, crystals, old gem charm, ribbons, chipboard, photo of my two babies which I used the old time look on it, Melissa Frances rub-ons and keyhole, glitter, lace, ribbons, pearls, punched MS butterflies and hearts which I also distressed, a little glass bottle filled with glitter, pearls and crystals and finally the little rose bud on the front left hand corner is from my niece's wedding back in November. I hung it upside down for awhile to dry it out and then I simply but carefully, coated it with some Aileen's glue and to my amazement, it is holding up!
My local scrapbook store (about 20 minutes away), Paper Wings started their own challenge blog, Random Flutters from Paper Wings. Their latest challenge is to use Distressing on your project. That challenge, {Time to Get Distressed!} is what inspired me to make this project.
I was also inspired by this gorgeous inspiration photo (Isn't it just yummy!) It is from this week's challenge from the Play Date Cafe!
And the following challenge(s):
~ Flutter by Wednesday: 3 hearts and a butterfly
~ Ellephantastic Challenge Blog: #23 Distressing with a LOVE theme
Well, back to taking it easy! Hubby and I have had a stomach virus for the past couple of days! YUCK! Not fun!
Have a wonderful day!
Hugs...
