♥ Crafty Secrets Pinwheels ♥

I hope you all had a lovely weekend! I can't believe it is July 1st already! And since it's the first Monday of the month, that means it's time for the Crafty Secrets July Linky Party and DT Challenge! All you have to do is link up any creation made with a Crafty Secrets product onto the Crafty Secrets Blog and you have a chance at winning a $50.00 gift certificate to the Crafty Vintage Girl Store!!

Crafty Secrets has just released some new Double Sided Papers! And they are so fun and versatile! Because they are digi, you can mix and match them around if you like, re-size them to your liking or just print out 1 side and leave the other side blank! The possibilities are endless and fun!! The first thing I thought of, when trying to showcase both sides of the papers, was Pinwheels! They are so fun and easy to make! And they can be used for numerous creations, events and holidays! So here's how easy they are to make!

What you will need:

~ Patterned Paper (Double-sided works best or you can use spray adhesive to adhere 2 papers together.)
~ Paper Trimmer
~ Ruler
~ Brads
~ Pencil
~ Hole punch or sharp object like scissors or paper piercer

First print out a square of the double sided paper. The actual square size will be the size of your pinwheel, so determine what size based on what it will be used on. (Card, Box, etc)

Cut it out with scissors or a paper trimmer. Next draw a line from 1 corner across to the other and repeat on the other corner.

Cut the lines until you reach about a 1/4" from the center.

Punch a hole on the right side of each corner and in the center of the square.

Using a brad, put it through each hole and then lastly through the center hole. (sorry I don't have pics of this step! No one was home and I couldn't hold the camera and the paper and brad at the same time! LOL) Close the tabs on the brad to hold it in place. Spread out the corners, if needed. They look really sweet on top of a paper mache box and make a great gift for a new baby. A small gift can be placed inside.

The box is covered with some really pretty Embossed Pink and Yellow Digi Papers. And for the Pinwheels I used the Pink Rosebuds Set, the Pastel Chenille Quilt Set and the Pink Chenille Quilt Set.

I made a matching card as well. The papers I used on this Pinwheel are from 2 different sets, which I printed out double-sided. This shows the fun and versatility using these amazing papers! I used the green paper from the Pastel Chenille Quilt Set and the Rose paper from the Pink Rosebuds Set.

On the base of the card, I also used the Embossed Pink and Yellow Set. The stamped baby sentiments on the box and card are from the Baby Girl Postcard Stamp Set.

We also have 2 new DT Members joining us this month!! Please leave them some love and a big welcome!!
