Hi there everyone! Boy did I have a scare!! Someone hacked my Blogger Account! And then removed me from having access to my own blog! I thought I lost 7 years of blogging to a hacker from Morocco!! I didn't want to start all over that's for sure! Thank God Blogger was able to remove him and give my blog back to me! I have a question for you all though! Do you think I should move my blog to TypePad, WordPress or stay here on Blogger? ETA: Not really that they are safer just wondering which you like better! I was thinking of switching before this happened, so I thought maybe this is the time to do it! Looking for input! :)
Well, it's time for a new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!
This time we have this fabulous Mood Board for you created by our own super talented Laura! So anything snowy or icy!! :)
The Simon Says DT are showcasing products by Glitter Ritz and/or Distress Glitter by Tim Holtz! I used the gorgeous Clear Rock Candy Distress Glitter by TH! Love this stuff! It has just the right amount of sparkle! And it comes in lots of different colors as well! Check them out HERE!
I made this Mason Jar Keepsake using the super fun White Clip Show Topper by Cosmo Cricket! It has the clip on the top for a picture or whatever you want to out in there and then on the underside of the lid, is a little hook where you can hang things from it! Brilliant!! I hung a Kate Snowflake drenched in the Glitter from the hook using some Twine.
I printed out the picture of my kids in Sepia and then I added some Glossy Accents to the snowman that my kids and hubby made and then added some more of the glitter. I also added some glitter to the actual Show Topper and to the mason jar itself also with the Glossy Accents. The stamped sentiment is from the Frosty Sentiments Stamp Set by C.C. Designs.
And don't forget, the super sweet and generous Heidi will give the random winner of this challenge a $50 Credit Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Superstore! Good luck everyone!
A BIG thank you to all of my Simon Says Teamies!! You all are the BEST!!
Have a wonderful rest of the week!
hugs...

On the topic of hacking - there is no reason to believe your blog is safer anywhere else, and frankly, what would a hacker even do with your blog once he had it?
ReplyDeleteThat's what I thought! What would a hacker want with a Craft Blog? But they did want it and put Ads running on it! I don't know what would of happened if someone clicked on those Ads! So beware!
ReplyDeleteSo happy you got your blog back...what a nightmare to think you would have lost it.
ReplyDeleteLove the photo of your cute children and that big snowman.
What a cute thing you did with the Mason jar and I love the white clip show topper. Get out my list of wants/needs. Ha
I do Blogger and can't give any advice about what to do about Wordpress. Hope you do the right thing, whether you stay or go.
I totally love this whole creation Melissa ,, the photo is super cute and the whole icy design is perfection !! LOVE LOVE LOVE it :-)
ReplyDeleteas for moving to a different forum,, I think it would be a shame to lose all your followers from here ,, you have almost 4,200 !! it would take a while to build those up again. I would stay put ,,,, you have been bitten but it is all OK now :-) I think you are having a knee jerk reaction :-)
luv

Wow Melissa what a beautiful creation! Since were having temperatures of 15°C over here, your creation let's me dream of a nice and cozy winter. And the picture you've worked with is just so cute! Hugs,

I love your creation this week, Melissa! It makes a really lovely keepsake! Your experience is so scary - so glad that it was resolved and you are back!
ReplyDeleteHello sweet friend, So glad to hear things are better. I think you should do what ever your heart tells you. But just think it through really well and make sure it is the best move for you. (If you make one) I do think the important key is making sure your account is logged off of correctly. And change your password often if necessary. I do believe that they were making money off of the ads on your blog. I am so glad you got it back. Google is going to be getting rid of their blog follower counter, that is why I took mine off my blog. It will be happening in the future. That is also why I added Bloglovin to my blog and now encourage everyone to follow through them. I love Bloglovin and use that reader program myself. I love your jar and how you printed the photo off in sepia. Super cute. Hugs.
ReplyDeleteYour creation, i dont have words for it. So faboulus

Oh this is so fabulous Melissa and such a clever idea.
ReplyDeleteAs for moving not sure it would make any difference but what happened give us all a wake up call to be more vigilant.

Wow, this is just stunning Melissa. What a fabulous keepsake for your children x
ReplyDeleteIt amazes what people get out of this sort of thing, just one word for them which is not printable. xxxxx
ReplyDeleteI prefer blogger...hang in there...hugz.
ReplyDeleteA fabulous creation Melissa, lovely details and such an adorable photo!!
ReplyDeleteI've had many Blogger issues, too many to list. The last drove me to open a WordPress account - I don't like it as much as Blogger but I keep it open as an emergency!!!
hugs

Hello my friend! WOW! This is awesome and so unique ... LOVE IT! The kids are getting so big ... what a great photo for this FABULOUS creation ... you are SO CREATIVE!
ReplyDeleteAs far as your blog ... not sure what to tell you ... it may have something to do with your ads but don't know enough about that to lend advice! I'm on blogger and have been happy with it. Good Luck and know I'll follow you where ever you go! Stay warm ... Brrr still only 8 degrees here!
This is SUCH a cool project! It is absolutely gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteLove your project. Gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteAs far as word press, I tried it and was not impressed. Not a lot of choices to set up the blog for personality and had a much harder time figuring out the ins & outs of setting up. I kept my blogger, added bloglovin.
I can't speak for the other forums. In the long run you'll have to do what's best for you. Goodluck.
This jar is so pretty! :) I love the beautiful photo and the gorgeous glitter!
ReplyDeleteI am so sorry to hear that your blog was hacked. My email was hacked a few years ago, and it is a mystery as to why, as there was no money in it for the hacker. Anyway, I am so very glad that you got it back. Your keepsake is just lovely. So wintery.
ReplyDeleteWhat a sweet Mason jar! I love all the wintery details!
ReplyDeleteI think whatever you choose there will be a learning curve so be prepared to put the extra time in. And make sure you erase arch all the features you want so you get them the first time around.
ReplyDeleteBut I think you have tested this blog, and the customer support worked, so be careful changing, you might not get that elsewhere unless you pay for it.
Love the jar! So cute!
