I hope you all are enjoying your Summer so far. We are having lots of fun here. Enjoying relaxing family time by the pool and the beach, water balloon and water gun fights, walks on the boardwalk. Just love summer....
It's time for a brand new challenge at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge Blog!
This week we want you to SHAKE IT! Your cards that is! ;) We want to see a shaker or confetti packet on your creations! There are several ways to create a shaker you can make your own or buy ready made products that you can alter.
This week the Simon Says DT are showcasing Exclusive products by Simon Says Stamp! I love the Friendship Butterflies Stamp and Die Set so much, I decided to use it again and make a Peek-A-Boo Shaker card. Love how the butterfly looks camouflaged against the woodgrain.
I added some Glossy Accents and White Glitter to the edges of the die cut butterfly and then a seam binding loop so it can be pulled off the card front to reveal the shaker. Due to it just fitting plus the glitter and ribbon, the butterfly really does stay! :)
I added some Pale Pink Sequins by Simon Says to the inside of the shaker. I also heat embossed the "Friend" using some White Embossing Powder by Hero Arts onto some teal colored paper and adhered it behind the negative die cut butterfly.
I finished off the card with some May Arts Natural Twine, some Prima Hearts, White Opal Liquid Pearls and the little butterfly was stamped using the Cotton Candy Ink Pad also by Simon Says. The woodgrain paper is from the Base Coat III Paper Pack by Kaiser.
And don't forget, the super sweet and generous Heidi will give the random winner of this challenge a $50 Credit Voucher to the Simon Says Stamp Superstore! Good luck everyone!
Have you seen the new Simon Says Stamp Store Website?? It looks amazing! You can see it for yourself HERE! Happy Shopping!! :)
Have a sweet day!

I really like shaker cards. I have to say, I've never seen a peek-a-boo shaker card before, and yours is wonderful. Love the woodgrain paper you used for it, and your embellishments are wonderful -- very nice, but they do not take away from the background at all. What a wonderful way to display the butterfly and the surprise underneath!
ReplyDeleteMelissa, this shaker card is a masterpiece. The butterflies are absolutely gorgeous and I just love that it's a peek-a-boo card. So clever and creative. :)
