Happy Monday everyone! This week I am your Hostess at The Shabby Tea Room. I chose the theme of "Candy Hearts". It is to create a card and/or project with a food theme and it must include a heart. You can use chocolate images, candy hearts, fruit, popcorn, coffee, tea, etc, etc. You don't have to use the colors from the inspiration photo if you don't want to, just the food and heart theme.
This week the Shabby Girls got use some more fabulous digi images from Robyn's Fetish. I chose the "I Heart U" image, which I enlarged in a photo editing software program, to make my actual card base from it. I printed the image out 3 times. First onto some Crafty Secrets red polka dot paper twice and then once onto some pink heart damask paper (both are from the Creating with Vintage Patterns CD #1). I then cut the 2 red hearts out and the center pink heart out of the third. I then adhered the pink heart onto the center of 1 of the red hearts. To attach the 2 together to form a card, I simply glued a piece of pink gingham to the inside of the 1st heart and then to the back of the 2nd heart. I printed the sentiment onto white cardstock and then colored it with some pink pastel chalk and then added chunky glitter.
I also used a vintage French Chocolate label from The Graphics Fairy, a heart made from chocolate shavings (found online), a handmade stick pin, my handmade crinkly cabbage rose ribbon (seam binding) and some little pink roses that I made with 2 $1 punches that took me literally minutes. I will have the tutorial on how to make your own little paper roses up soon.
The winner of this week's challenge will win 5 digi images of their choice to the Robyn's Fetish store!
Here is the inspiration photo for you all!
Don't forget to leave some love for the other Shabby Girls too! ;)
