I love to alter and decorate boxes to give as gifts. And when I saw Betsy Veldman's "Vintage Findings" challenge and Flourishes "The Beauty of a Gift" challenge, I decided to make some vintage style boxes for my son's Pre-School teachers.
I purchased the chalkboard topped boxes at Michael's and decorated them with some vintage alphabet and school papers, wooden school elements, an old ruler, ribbons, mini clipboard and a piece of chalk, which I hot glued to the top. I also used some Melissa Frances rub-ons as well as a button. I painted the top of the box white and then inked it brown and blue for an aged look. Before giving them to his teachers, I filled them with candy. His teachers loved them!I hope you all have a safe and Happy Halloween!! Have FUN!

♥ Sweetie Pie ♥ {A Shabby CASE!}
This week's FUN challenge over at The Shabby Tea Room is to make a card inspired by one of the fabulous DT's cards. I could be inspired by all of their work! But I chose 2 of them for my card. I first chose an adorable card made by Cathy Clark-Santie, which inspired the color scheme for my card. And the 2nd person I chose to CASE was a gorgeous card made by Clare Buswell. I decided to use the same design as her card. You can see all the cards HERE at this post.
For my card, I used the adorable Melissa Frances vintage papers and cut out from her Kitschy Kitchen line, as well as a MF rub-on. I also used some of Debbie's gorgeous seam binding ribbon, crocheted ribbon, bakers twine, crystal swirl and I made a mini rolling pin out of a mini spool, ribbon and pearls.
I also used Betsy's Something Vintage challenge and the Paper Take Weekly challenge, Sparkly and Bright.
Well, I am off to our son's school. Today is his Halloween party. They will be going trick or treating to each classroom. He is so excited! And of course, he is Thomas the Train! I will post pics later!
Enjoy your day!

♥ A Halloween Card and Treat Box! ♥
Hi Friends! I have missed crafting so much that I am squeezing in some time for a little fun in between changing diapers, cleaning my home, laundry, cooking, running errands, you know all that other FUN STUFF!! LOL Here is a fun little Halloween set I made. I will be giving this to my 4 yr old son. I will probably fill the little box with some candy (not too much since he will be trick or treating!)and maybe some money so he can go and visit Toys R' Us for a little something! (Most likely a Thomas train!!)
I made the little pumpkin on the box using a styrofoam ball which I covered in some orange glitter, used some The Girls Paperie paper for his eyes, nose and mouth, added some ribbon hair and a little mini witches hat which I made from black cs, covered in glitter and topped off with a sheer ribbon bow. The box is also covered with some Girls Paperie paper, some crocheted ribbon and satin ribbon bow.
For the card, I used some more Girls Paperie paper, a Crafty Secrets cutout which I added more glitter to, some burlap and more crocheted and satin ribbon.
I made this for this week's challenges over at Really Reasonable Ribbon's Ramblings which was to make a Halloween card and/or Treat bag or box. I also used this week's sketch over at 2 Sketches 4 You and I also used today's Ways to Use it Challenge over at SCS which was to use fabric on your card (does burlap count??). And last but not least, I used this week's challenge over at the City Crafter Challenge blog, which was to make a card/project that has a vintage feel to it!

♥ A Simple Treasures Blog Birthday Celebration Challenge! ♥
I love a good challenge! Especially if it involves doilies, wonderful colors and a vintage shabby feel! And this inspiration photo from Martha Stewart definitely has all three! Debbie from Simple Treasures (and The Shabby Tea Room) has issued a challenge in celebration of her blog's 2nd Birthday! And you could win some of her scrumptious Seam Binding Ribbon, which I used on this card! You have until midnight tonight to enter! Just click HERE!
For my card, I first inked a paper doily with some light blue and pale pink inks and then glittered it up! I adhered it over some Echo Park paper and then added a Fancy Pants Heart from their Lilac House Cards. I dressed it all up with some Martha Stewart punched snowflakes, Melissa Frances Rub-Ons, Crocheted ribbon, Debbie's Seam binding ribbon, glitter and pearls. I hope you like it!
And here is a photo of our 7 1/2 week old son, Santino. He is growing by the second! He has gained 3 lbs already!! He is already 11 lbs 10oz! He is a very happy baby and we thank God everyday for him and our son Antonio! Children are definitely a gift from God! Ok, now back to cleaning, cooking and changing diapers!! Oh, goody!! LOL
Have a wonderful day!!
