INTRODUCING CANDLEWICK CLASSICS I GIVEAWAY

Hi Friends, last month we introduced Candlewick Sampler and this month we are introducing a small companion collection that drives home that sweet Candlewick look.  We introduce these so that there is a central place you can see them and how they are used; we hope you will welcome Candlewick Classics.  If you loved Hemstitch Classics like Hemstitch Rectangles then you'll love the individual new dies options in the 6 die collection.  These are basics you'll definitely want to evaluate for your stash.

A Bit About Candlewick Classics

Nowhere does the candlewick look and feel come through more than on the Candlewick Classics.  It's a delicate look reminiscent of actual candlewicking and punctuated by the rounded motifs that imply french knots.  Candlewick Classics are classic square, circle, oval and rectangle label shapes that are bordered with the candlewick motif in the most useful card making sizes.  They also mix and match with the Hemstitch Classics.

What is Candlewicking?  Browse the google images found when searching "Candliewicking" and you will see that it is a type of whitework embroidery normally done on cream or white fabric embellished with cream or white french knots.  The series of french knots create the outlines of the pattern giving it a unique look while adding a touch of elegance.  In these dies, you can see rounded motifs that hint at the texture of dots.  Without overpowering, it's a sweet little detail present on all the dies in the collection.  Plus, it just happens to be the perfect spot to place a pearl.  Google candlewicking and you'll see exactly what we mean.

My Projects For Today:

I'm introducing S4-1035 Candlewick Circles Etched Dies

Nestabilities Candlewick Circles Etched Dies Candlewick Classics Collection by Becca Feeken

Here is what the Plates actually look like.

Circle Dies are one of those Die sets that you can always use. The versatility in them are endless. I just love the inlay on these dies. So pretty! I decided to make a place card setting for my Fall table using these dies. I made some cute perfectly round pumpkins with the Dies. :)

I added some sticks from my yard to the "pumpkins" to act as stems, dressed them up with some pearls, fabric leaves, twine and ribbon.

For my Next Project, I made a simple card with these beautiful Dies. This is one set that you need in your crafty stash, for sure!

AMAZING PAPER GRACE NOVEMBER DIE OF THE MONTH BLOG HOP I WINTERS SOLSTICE SNOWFLAKE

Christmas is on the horizon and of course, as makers, made Christmas Cards are our hallmark during the holidays.  This month's APG Die of the Month is Winters Solstice Snowflake.  It is a delicate doily looking snowflake done in a regal way to usher in the Holiday Season.

The Snowflake was designed by Becca but if you know her well, as a budget crafter, she intends for you to use the design year-round.  Her holiday offerings always can be dressed up for Holidays and dressed down for any other occasion and the same is true with Winters Solstice Snowflake.

This Die Set is just stunning! It can definitely be used all-year-round for sure! Love the inlay design and of course that beautiful "snowflake".

My First Project Today:

For my first project today, I made a shadowbox type frame by simply layering the inlay several times using foam dots over the base. I added a piece of vellum to the back of it and then I adhered a stamped sentiment to the vellum using clear drying glue. This way, when you add a candle to the back of the frame, you see the stamped sentiment through the vellum.

My Second Project:

For my second project, I made a shaped card with the Dies showing that this set can be used any time of the year.

♥ Elegant Golden Invitation ♥

Happy Saturday! Are you enjoying Fall so far? Its kind of hard to enjoy it when it's been so warm. I can't wait for some "sweater weather". I can't believe that Halloween is right around the corner! Which means Christmas will be here before we know it! I don't even want to think about that! LOL Anyway, I wanted to share a card I made using a beautiful Die by Amazing Paper Grace for Spellbinders. It is from the new Candlewick Sampler Collection and it is called Candlewick Petticoats Etched Dies. It is perfect to make a "pocket" with or just use as an embellishment. Here I used it as a pocket for my card front to hold an invitation. It would be great any party or even a Wedding or Shower. I adhered it by simply adding some small foam dots to the sides and bottom of the die cut. To make it even more secure, I also added a couple drops of hot glue to some of the foam dots.

You can find more of Becca's gorgeous Dies HERE at the Spellbinders Website or HERE on Scrapbook.com  And...hint, hint! All of her Dies are on SALE at Scrapbook.com!!

Have a wonderful weekend!

AMAZING PAPER GRACE OCTOBER DIE OF THE MONTH BLOG HOP

Have you ever needed to make a card and hunted through your stash and found that you could not find a sentiment with the right word?  Well, look no more!  It was out of that frustration that Becca created a sweet set that will accommodate that exact word you are looking for with One Kind Word Alphabet Collage.

Now you can headline with Sorry, Amazing, Silly, Fierce, Happy, Heaven, Gather, Home, Grow, Friend, Bestie and the list goes on and on.  No need to stick with one word, you can have two - U Rock, Adore U, My Love.

One of the things we share when we share a handmade card, is kindness.  What better way to share that kindness than to put the exact word you mean on the front of the card.  Nothing like getting right to the point! The Alphabet collage is a card in and of itself but the words you can make with the letters that fall out, are priceless.  You can use the 5 x 7 Sentiment Frame or go naked and simply make up your own sentiment.

As soon as I saw this Die Set, I thought of a Teacher card. I guess because of the alphabet dies. But the amazing thing about this Die set is that you can create ANY words or sentiments that  you want. It can be made into a shabby card, or a clean and simple card or anything in between. So FUN!

My Project Today:

I simply die cut the large frame die using some dark blue cardstock and another using white cardstock. I then adhered the white frame behind the blue one slightly off center so the blue would have a white "shadow". I then die cut the letters out using light green, white and red cardstock. I then adhered the white "Thank You" onto a piece of black cardstock and adhered it to the bottom portion of the blue frame. I then added the green ABC letters to a piece of red cardstock and then adhered that to the top portion of the frame. Then the red TEACHER letters to the white banner. I then finished it off with some pearls, red ribbon and ruler ribbon.

INTRODUCING CANDLEWICK SAMPLER | GIVEAWAY

If you're a "Gracelet" or by chance happened by the Amazing Paper Grace website over time, you have no doubt wondered how Becca comes up with her names and inspiration.  Today, we're excited to give a little peek into a new collection and the inspiration.  Join us as we share lovely creations made using Candlewick Sampler

Since the age of 12 Becca has loved fiber - she quilts, knits, crochets, does cross stitch and before becoming a Licensed Die Designer sewed most of her own clothes. Fascinated with intricate textures and the look of laces, fabrics, and embroidery, Becca tried to replicate the look and feel of those textures in dies.  Candlewicking has such a distinct look and Becca thrilled at the prospect of getting that look and feel into a die.  If you've loved her lace look collections or that elegant look of Hemstitch, you'll love Candlewick Sampler.

The Inspiration Behind Candlewick Sampler

Candlewicking is a type of whitework embroidery normally done on cream or white fabric embellished with cream or white french knots.

My Project For Today

I'm introducing S5-402 Lace Card Front Etched Dies

Here is what the Die actual looks like.

                   https://www.spellbinderspaperarts.com/shapeabilities-candlewick-lace-card-front-etched-dies-candlewick-sampler-collection-by-becca-feeken/

For my project today I made a shaped card front using this beautiful Die. It really does look like a piece of lace that has been found up in your grandma's attic. So pretty! I just simply adhered the top of the die cut to the card back and added some pearls and a ribbon. Simple, classic yet elegant.
