♥ Shabby Chic Button Card Shaker ♥

Happy Sunday! What a wonderful week we have had here in the U.S. with the Papal Visit! Just finished watching the Mass from Philadelphia. What a wonderful Pope we have! Such a beautiful, loving, caring yet simple man. We should all take lessons. Love that he can throw some humor in there as well! :)

Right before Mass started, I finished another shabby card made with some sweet collages from the iralamija shop on Etsy. This time I made a sweet shaker card out of a vintage button card.

Here's how to make your own.

Step 1. Cut out 2 of the same button cards from the Vintage Buttons No. 2 Collage Sheet. Then using a craft knife, cut out the center panel of 1 of the cards, leaving a "frame".

Step 2: Add foam squares or tape along the center square of the 1st card. Trim squares to fit around, making sure they don't overlap the edges.

Step 3: Adhere a piece of acrylic to the back of the cut out frame. I used a thin line of hot glue to adhere it.

Step 4: Add buttons, sequins, pearls, glitter or whatever you like, to the inside of the button card.

Step 5: Add the "frame" over the top of the button card, making sure you line it up correctly. Once it hits the tape, it will be hard to remove it without bending or breaking your frame piece.

Next just add to your card front! The background paper is from the Pastel Rose Collage and the beautiful butterfly is from the Pretty Finds Collage.

The sweet sentiment is from the Expressions No. 2 Collage.

Don't forget to stop by the iralamija shop for some super sweet shabby chic and vintage images and papers!

Hope you have a wonderful week!

hugs...

HI Melissa! I couldn't agree more with you about the Pope...he is wonderful and his visit to America was wonderful! We live right outside of Philadelphia and my daughter was able to spend all of Saturday there and saw him! The excitement around here is electric! We watched the Mass today and it was so wonderful, I knew people in the 500+ person choir, too! Anyway, I just had to agree with you! Your card is so shabby chic and gorgeous...I adore it!!!

I'm so lucky, I live in Italy and here the Pope Francesco is in our Tv all the Sundays morning. He is a very carismatic Pope, and conquers the people with his simplicity and humor. :D He is a man as we are, and he don't forget it :)
Love your shaker card, it's so sweet and lovely!!!
