♥ You had me at Merlot ♥ {And pics of my newly remodeled Craft Room}

Love that cute sentiment! The sentiment, wine bottle and grapes are from the Wine Lovers Digi Set by Crafty Secrets. Such a fun and sweet set! Perfect for a party invite, to decorate a bottle for a gift or a card for a wine lover!

I colored in the images with both Copic Markers and some Distress Markers by Tim Holtz. (Love them!!) I also added some Liquid Pearls.

Lots of fun new Digi Stamps are coming out by Crafty Secrets! Halloween, Christmas and more! :)

I am almost finished with my Craft Room. Last year or so, I found this white dresser on the side of the road waiting for the garbage truck to pick it up! Who would throw away such a beauty?? So of course, I made hubby go and pick it up. ;) All it needed was a new top, which hubby cut out of a piece of wood, some new paint and some crystal knobs! Well, this is the piece that started it all! Now I just had to re-do my room!

I found on Craigslist this wooden round table that someone in the next town was putting to their curb, again for FREE! So once, again, my sweet hubby went and picked it up! Did I mention, it was FREE!! So happy!! Eventually, I will paint it white too, but for now, it is fine with a white lace table cloth on it. It also came with a leaf, it is huge.

And here is a hutch that I just put up there. Again, it was FREE! I just had to distress paint it with some white paint and sandpaper and add some crystal knobs . It was an ugly color!!

The neighbor down the street was moving and just wanted to get rid of it. He asked my hubby if he wanted it and hubby said no! "I don't think so!! It would be perfect for my Craft Room", I said! The poor look on hubby's face! He knew that meant trouble! Not because I wanted it but because it is such a large and heavy piece. You see, my craft room is located above our bedroom and in order to get there, you have to go up this spiral stair case! But in the end, it wasn't bad because the top part comes off, so it was carried up in 2 parts.

I added some girly touches to MY Room! Since I am the only girl in the house, I wanted a space that was all mine! Well, not really! The kids have a little desk of their own up there too! But that's ok! It's still my room! :) This is the view from the top of the stairs. That door goes to an outside balcony overlooking our backyard.

I painted and distressed this vintage step ladder which I got on Ebay for nearly nothing. It's just a little display piece. I decoupaged some roses by Crafty Secrets on it. (The rose can be found in the Vintage Valentine's Kit)

I really wanted a crystal chandelier to hang over my table but the prices of them are crazy and I would have had to pay an electrician to run wires, so I decided to make my own. I just took a distressed birdcage that I picked up in Michael's and added some crystal beads around it.

I put a photo frame with my kids inside of it along with a remote controlled battery operated candle and a little ceramic bird. It looks really cute irl.

Where the hutch is now, I used to have those white cubes that everyone has. But now I have them in the closet in my craft room. So the real mess is hidden!

 That's the closet door.

Well, that's it for me! See you back here tomorrow for Simon Says Stamp Wednesday and Day 3 of my GDT for JustRite!

Have a wonderful night!

And just for joining the Linky Party, you automatically get a $6 credit to the Store!!

It is also a new Crafty Secrets DT Challenge! This month is really anything that we wanted to do, so I thought it would be fun to alter a Tequila Bottle! If you really take a look, so many alcohols come in some really pretty bottles! I just loved the look of this particular bottle. It reminds me of a vintage apothecary or medicine bottle. It is a pretty decent size too. It would be perfect to fill with some water and some pretty flowers or just leave as is! Let's get started!

Here is the bottle I used:

First, remove the labels. This can be a little time consuming but totally worth it in the end. I just used a lot of warm water and a little metal scraper. It took awhile to remove the glue, but it will come off with a little elbow grease!

Then I mixed some water and some white acrylic paint in a cup and brushed a light coating onto the bottle.

When dry, I sanded it in spots with a sanding tool. A light sandpaper or paper bag would work too.

Then I sealed it with some Mod Podge. I just used 1 coat.

I then printed out a photo of my kids in Sepia and some images, sentiments and quotes from the Crafty Secrets Photo Studio Digital Stamp Set. (Love this fun set!)  I distressed the photo with a distressing tool and some brown ink on the edges. Cut out images and quotes and distress the edges on them as well.(I printed the quote right onto the photo using a simple photo editing program.)

Then decorate your bottle as desired! I also added some Prima flowers and clock, some pearls and some seam binding. I ♥ that vintage camera!!

It looks really pretty on a table in my foyer!

♥ Haute Couture ♥

Hi there!! How was your weekend? Great, I hope! Just stopping in with a card I made with some of the new Printable papers by Crafty Secrets. Love that cute green Pastel Chenille paper. That set also comes with a really sweet pastel quilt paper that would be perfect for a baby card.

I also used a pink Damask paper from the Classic Damask Pink/Scene Paper Set. I made a little paper ribbon loop from the Pink Rosebuds Paper Set as well. The button card is from the Button Up Digital Stamp Set. And the "Material Girl" is from the Set by the same name.

Don't forget next Monday, August 5th, will be the August Linky Party and DT challenge on the Crafty Secrets Blog! Your chance to win a $50 gift certificate to the Crafty Vintage Girl Store! I will also be back here with a fun tutorial using a Tequila Bottle!! ;)

 Have a wonderful day!

♥ Rose Tutorial ~ Crafty Secrets Style! ♥

♥ Ok. I really need to learn how to make videos and upload them! It would be so much easier for me to show a tutorial! :) Anyone have any pointers or suggestions?? ♥

I wanted to show you a fun and really simple way to make a paper rose. I used some of the new Printable Papers by Crafty Secrets. Let's get started.

I first printed out a double sided paper by printing on 1 side of cardstock and then reloading it into the printer and printing on the other side. For this particular rose I used the Wild Roses Paper Set. Next punch, die cut or hand draw a six petal flower.

Next you will draw a line from each "corner" across to the other on the back of the flower. On a 6 petal flower, there should be 3 lines.

Next, you will cut on 1 line to the center of the flower on only 1 flower. Then on the 2nd flower, you will cut on 2 lines, which will remove 1 of the petals. Then on the 3rd flower, you will cut on 2 lines but leaving a line in the middle uncut, so you will remove 2 petals that will form a heart. Following me? I hope so. Ink the edges with brown ink.

Now you will add some hot glue to 1 petal and you will fold it under the next petal. Repeat for the other 2 flowers. This will form a cone like flower.

Using a little stick, like from a cotton swab, roll the edges of the flower petals over the stick. (In the photos, I did it before I glued the flowers together but it is easier to do afterwards!)

Roll the 2 little pieces loosely around the cotton swab as well. These will be the flower center.

To make the flower assembly easier, cut the "cone shaped" bottoms off all of the pieces.

Now assemble the flower starting with the larger flower. Adhere it with hot glue onto a small punched or die cut circle.

Next adhere the 2nd largest and so on, finishing up with the 2 small pieces, 1 going inside of the other.

And there you have a fun and easy paper rose. It really is! Give it a try!!

For my card, I also used the Embossed Pink and Yellow Paper Set, Embossed Yellow and Green Paper Set (Green), Rose Swirls Paper Set (Blue), and the Ephemera Ad paper is from the Garden Papers Set. Birthday Wishes is from the Garden Girls Digi Stamp Set.

Have a sweet day! I will announce my 2 winners from my GDT post from the Simon Says Stamp and Show Monday Blog shortly!!

♥ Sweet Peas ♥

Just love the new Printable Papers by Crafty Secrets! So many beautiful colors, designs and some are even embossed! And for a printable paper, you can really see the embossing and it look so real! Just look at that gold paper! Can you tell it's a digi?? So beautiful!! The gold and yellow papers in the background are from the Embossed Gold Papers Set.

The butterflies are made from the Embossed Yellow/Green Papers Set. Just love the gorgeous dimension of these papers!! The Sweet Peas Ad is cut out from 1 of the New Digital Garden Papers Set. Love that set too! :)

Oh, and the cute little chalkboard can be purchased HERE. :) I just distressed mine with a little white paint.

I'll be back next week with a fun tutorial on how to make some beautiful, easy peasy flower roses from some of the new Crafty Secrets papers!

Have a wonderful day!
