I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! We spent the weekend by the pool, having a BBQ with the neighbors. It was such a beautiful day yesterday. My sister and brother-in-law are flying in tomorrow, so we are all excited for their visit. We have lots of fun things to do planned. I can't wait to see them! I miss them both so much!
I made this cute little pin cushion using some of the new Garden Papers by Crafty Secrets. You can read more about them HERE! They are so beautiful. And they will be available starting today! Love all of the seed packet papers!!
Here's a quick "how-to" on how to make it!
First off, to make the pin cushion, is Super EASY!! I simply took a small organza bag that has pretty roses on them which I purchased in the wedding section of Michaels. (They come in a few different colors.) Remove the strings on the end, by simply cutting it and then pulling out. Then, fill with fiberfill. And either sew it shut or you can hot glue the edges shut. Which is what I did. It is so quick and easy and no one will know, since you won't see it! ;) Just be careful not to burn your fingers.
Then I distressed (just a little) with some brown ink, this cute little wooden crate with a handle. They are only $1 at Michaels. Add some tissue paper for height and then add the pin cushion. You can hot glue everything to hold it in place.
Next, I enlarged the Gardening Ad paper bigger, using photo editing software. I then cut out the part I wanted, distressed it a bit and then added it to the front of the mini crate, over a piece of lace. I colored in the roses with some Copics.
I then enlarged the Flower Seed Packet paper and cut out 1 of the "seed packets". I then distressed it and then added it to the one side of the crate. I also used a crystal, button, pearls and hand dyed seam binding. I also made the stick pins as well. I finished it off, with some cute little gardening tools!
I also made this little watering can pin cushion as well. Once again, using one of the Flower Seed packets from the new Garden Paper Set!
Make sure you check out all of the beautiful new Garden papers and ephemera by Crafty Secrets! As well as all of the creation by our DT!!
Speaking of pin cushions, I was just featured in the May issue of Simply Homemade Magazine (UK). And I was thrilled to see that I was on the cover with 1 of my tea cup pin cushions (Middle of Cover) and part of another Tea Cup Pin Cushion(Top middle)! That made my day!! :) I have 4 pin cushions all together in the issue. 1 of them was made with Crafty Secrets products!
Have a sweet day! Oh, and don't forget to check out not 1 but 2 Giveaways I am having! 1 will help put a smile on a beautiful young lady!! :)
