INTRODUCING CANDLEWICK SAMPLER | GIVEAWAY

If you're a "Gracelet" or by chance happened by the Amazing Paper Grace website over time, you have no doubt wondered how Becca comes up with her names and inspiration.  Today, we're excited to give a little peek into a new collection and the inspiration.  Join us as we share lovely creations made using Candlewick Sampler

Since the age of 12 Becca has loved fiber - she quilts, knits, crochets, does cross stitch and before becoming a Licensed Die Designer sewed most of her own clothes. Fascinated with intricate textures and the look of laces, fabrics, and embroidery, Becca tried to replicate the look and feel of those textures in dies.  Candlewicking has such a distinct look and Becca thrilled at the prospect of getting that look and feel into a die.  If you've loved her lace look collections or that elegant look of Hemstitch, you'll love Candlewick Sampler.

The Inspiration Behind Candlewick Sampler

Candlewicking is a type of whitework embroidery normally done on cream or white fabric embellished with cream or white french knots.  The series of french knots create the outlines of the pattern giving it a unique look while adding a touch of elegance.  In these dies, you can see rounded motifs that hint at the texture of dots.  Without overpowering, it's a sweet little detail present on all the dies in the collection.  Plus, it just happens to be the perfect spot to place a pearl.  Google candlewicking and you'll see exactly what we mean.

My Project For Today

I'm introducing S5-402 Lace Card Front Etched Dies

Here is what the Die actual looks like.

For my project today I made a shaped card front using this beautiful Die. It really does look like a piece of lace that has been found up in your grandma's attic. So pretty! I just simply adhered the top of the die cut to the card back and added some pearls and a ribbon. Simple, classic yet elegant.

Grand Snow Globe Card

Happy Friday to you!! Can you believe there's only 109 days until Christmas?? Where has this year gone? Wasn't it just New Years Day!?! Well, it will be here before you know it! Amazing Paper Grace just released a new Christmas collection, 3D Holiday Vignettes, a couple of weeks ago. And the 3D Christmas Dies in this collection is nothing short of fabulous!

For this card, I am using the Grand Snow Globe Etched Dies. You can make a wonderful multi-layered card with the Dies. I decided to make a "flat" card but with a 3D look to it. I will be making these for family and friends but I'm going to add one those plastic ornaments that you can break in half (Sold at Michael's) where you can add things inside of. I will adhere half of the ornament over the front of the card and add some glitter to it, to make an actual "Snow Globe". I wanted to add it to this one to show you but couldn't find the ones I purchased last year and Michael's aren't selling them in stores in yet. But you can find them online. :)

You can find all of Becca's fabulous Dies, Glimmer Plates and Stamps HERE at the Spellbinders Store.

Have a great weekend!!

AMAZING PAPER GRACE SEPTEMBER DIE OF THE MONTH BLOG HOP

Another month has come and this month behind the scenes we've been marveling at all the ways you can use the September Die of the Month called Snip It Flowers.  (Hint: Inspirational PDF attached)

At first glance, it looks like a background die; it is anything but a background die.  It was designed so that each of the flowers can be snipped out to create a panel, frame or element.  Whether you want the 4 x 4 frame, the 3 x 4 frame, a one layer border, a two-layer border or a corner, all you have to do is "snip".  Each one of us has taken the die and spun it into a creation - we hope to inspire!!

My First Projects Today:

I made a full size card with the Die. It's just so pretty that I wanted to use it first in all its glory! Then I made a matching little Note Card that could also make a sweet Place Card Setting. I just simply trimmed away all but 6 of the flowers.

Next I made a candle wrap for a votive holder. That used just a strip of 4 flowers.

For my next project, I made a sweet little basket. This was so fun and easy to make.

I just simply die cut 2 of the panels in the light pink cardstock. I then glued them together with some clear drying glue, overlapping 2 rows of the flowers. I then scored a line on each side of the glued panels and folded it upwards on each side to form a "U". (Sorry, I didn't take pics of these steps but hopefully you follow what I'm saying. If anyone doesn't understand, just email me and I will help you through it.:)

I then cut a third panel out in pink and trimmed out 2 squares of 4 flowers each in them. Those will be the sides. Then I cut out 4 tiny strips of white poster board paper (you can also use cardboard or thick paper) and folded them in half. Then I hot glued each one onto the inside top and bottom (back side of paper) of each flower of the smaller panels of 4. Then hot glue them to the corresponding flower on each side of the larger panels to form the basket. I then die cut a panel in gold poster board paper and trimmed out 8 flowers to add behind the front panel of the basket for a golden shadow. Then die cut another in gold and trimmed it out to form the handle. Because of the poster board and the double cardstock, it turned out to be really sturdy. Ready to be filled with candy, a small gift or whatever you'd like!

INTRODUCING 3D HOLIDAY VIGNETTES BLOG HOP AND GLIMMER

Way back when 3D Vignettes were introduced, messages started to come in by crafters begging for the same thing, but for Christmas. You also asked that we keep supplying new inserts. Well, your wish is our command! Introducing 3D Holiday Vignettes plus new Glimmer Designs. If you are not familiar with these popular dies, stay tuned - lots of information follows.

Hi there, today we are sharing with you a great new collection by Becca Feeken of Amazing Paper Grace with a blog hop featuring new Vignettes for the holidays and the new Holiday Glimmer Designs will blow your socks off.  So.....

What's a 3D Vignette?
A 3D Vignette is a dimensional card that folds down flat.  It has a front layer, a back layer and several in between layers that are held stable by slotted side pieces.  These layers allow you to build depth into a diorama or tunnel type card.   We take all of the guesswork out of the equation by giving you mix and match layers, including sentiments to stack into a Vignette.   So far, we've released 3D Vignettes and Shadowbox Vignettes.

What's more, you can use your own supplies to fill them up as well.  The bonus is that each of these layers also works for your other types of cards you make.  A budget crafter from day one, Becca keeps the "mix and match" sensibility alive in Holiday Vignettes so that you get a lot of bang for your buck.  What does that mean?

1.  These vignettes are interchangeable with your other vignettes.
2.  Holiday Designs can be used for non-holiday designs after the season.
3.  You can use these elements to make flat, stand-alone cards too.

About 3D Holiday Vignettes
Layered Die sets were introduced with 3D Vignettes and people quickly realized you could use individual elements in flat cards or you could use them layered together in a diorama.  Shadowbox Vignettes continued the tradition and as you might guess, these new layering sets can be used in both Shadowbox Vignettes and 3D Vignettes.

3D Holiday features three new facades (each including a sentiment) using the same shapes that came in the original 3D Vignettes - Round (snow globe), Arch, and Cabinet.

In addition, there is a new layering set for each - a round set, an arch set and a set to fit the new cabinet.  Join us as we give you a full-on look at all of the new sets.

My Projects For Today:

I am using S5-397 Santa Claus Layering Set Etched Dies

Here is what the plate actually looks like.

https://www.spellbinderspaperarts.com/shapeabilities-santa-claus-layering-set-etched-dies-3d-holiday-vignettes-collection-by-becca-feeken/

I made a simple card using the Dies. I just simply layered 2 die cuts in ivory and added a gold background to make a classic and elegant card.

The larger pinkish colored circle is from the Brillante Rondelle Etched Dies Set.

Next up I made an ornament with the Dies.

Again, I just simply stacked 2 ivory Die cuts on top of one another. I then added a die cut in gold behind them and then backed it with an ivory background. I then adhered that onto a Charming Snowflake Doily Die Cut in both the pinkish beige cardstock and gold poster board.
