My Exciting News!

WOW!! I am soo excited!! Marisol Jiminez, the Assitant Editor of "Scrapbook News and Review" has asked me to become a member of their staff!! How freakin' cool is that?!! I am both honored and thrilled to be a part of such a great team!! Thank you so much Marisol and Kate! You both ROCK! I can't wait to get started!

And since, I am on here, I guess I'll post a few things I made for my craft show this upcoming weekend! Which I'm still not ready for, by the way!!

Here are a couple of snowflake boxes I made. They are paper mache boxes that I covered with some adorable Basic Grey Figgy Pudding paper. I also added a wooden snowflake by Provo Craft which I painted a light blue, then when dry, coated it with some glue and then smothered it in glitter! Then I added some sheer ribbon, a felt
snowflake and a button. Under the snowflake, I ripped apart a few cotton balls, soaked them in glue and then sprinkled on some glitter! To finish it off, I added some white trim along the rim and a sheer bow on the top.

Here is a baby frame I made, which is 1 of several! I used DCWV paper, a tag by Wild Asparagus, baby labels by Melissa Frances, ribbon, hemp cord, buttons, chipboard heart and a rub-on by Deja Views.

And this is a Birthday Cake Box! Just a fun box that a small gift could be put into! It is a satin box that I covered with papers by Pink Paislee and Basic Grey. I also used some Inque Boutique Butterfly stamps, Prima Flowers, Satin ribbon, glitter and of course, a real candle.

Wish me luck on the craft show, I think I'm gonna need it!!

Well, I better go and feed my family!! I was so excited about Scrapbook News and Review, I forgot all about dinner!! LOL

Have a great night!!

Hugs, Melissa

All about the Love!

That's what this month's theme is for our DT at The Rubber Cafe! We have to create some cards using Valentine themed stamps! I just love these awesome stamps! They are just the cutest! Here are a couple of cards that I made so far.

The first one, I cut out the center of the Lg. Lace Heart stamp #J-1063(which is loaded up with glitter), after I adhered it to the card, using a craft knife. I then adhered that heart to the inside of my card. Stamped the Happy Valentine's stamp (#C-398)onto that and then loaded that up too with glitter.

So, now you have a window in the front of the card that looks into the inside verse. I used Basic grey paper and DCWV CS as well as hemp cord, a button, ribbon and a Marvy Uchida Border Punch.

This next one was made with the Loving Cup stamp(#H-801). I used Kaiser Craft paper, Brown and white CS, Ki Memories Lace heart CS, lace, a button, hemp cord, mini heart brads and lots of glitter.

I have been so busy lately getting ready for my craft show this upcoming weekend, all my DT work, family and housework, that I feel like I am going crazy! But it is all good!! I have finished most of my Guest Design Team work for Moments to Remember and will post them over the weekend! What a great kit they sent me! I also have some really exciting news to tell but you'll have to wait on that one too! And no I'm not pregnant!! LOL Until then, Have a great day!!

The 2nd Set is made from Bazzill Basics CS, Inkadinkado Snowflakes Stamps, Ultra Fine Glitter, glue pad, sheer ribbon, crystals and I printed the sentiments out onto CS using MS Word.

This 3rd set was made with Kraft color CS, Basic Grey(Figgy Pudding) paper, Bazzill CS, Inkadinkado Snowflakes stamps, red crystals, sheer ribbon, white paint marker and the sentiments were also printed from MS Word.

The 4th set was made with Bazzill CS, Snowflake paper by Stemma, wooden snowflake by Provo Craft, Sheer ribbon, buttons, crocheted ribbon, Ultra Fine Glitter, blue paint, and the sentiments from MS Word.

Bye, Bye! Inque Boutique!

I am very sad! As many of you know, Darice, a large craft company known for making cheap products, had purchased Inque Boutique a couple of months ago. Well, now they have pulled the Inque Boutique website down, where I had about 500+ layouts, cards and projects on, and so did many others, I might add. I have also heard they will not be producing any more Inque products. It is very sad to see such a great company go down the tubes like that! I personally will not be purchasing any more of their products, unless they continue with IB.

So, with that being said, I thought I would post a few LO's, cards and projects throughout the week, that was made with IB products(stamps, paper, felt, etc). In honor, of my favorite company that is no more!! LOL as I wipe away the tears! {giggle}

Today, will be Baby Day!

Here is a baby girl card I made with IB stamps, paper by Making Memories, My Mind's Eye and Bazzill, a Prima flower and some adhesive pearls.

Here is a baby shower card I made with IB stamps,DCWV papers, lace ribbon and some mini button brads.

Here is a layout I made with IB stamps, Bazzill CS, Silver EP, buttons, ribbon and crystals.

Baby Shower favors using IB stamps, Melissa Frances label, crocheted flowers, pearls, ribbon, rope and a tin heart.

Card made with IB stamps, gold EP, Bazzill Basics CS, sheer ribbon, safety pin, brads and a Marvy Uchida photo corner punch.

This card is one of my favorites, I used IB stamps, DCWV paper, part of a Jolee's Boutique fence sticker, satin ribbon and some brads.

Sorry for such a long post! I have plenty more! I will post some Birthday cards and projects tomorrow!

Have a Blessed Day!

Little Black Kitten!

I love this picture of this little black kitten. It reminds me of when our cat, Bonkey, was a kitten. My parents now have her, since she was very jealous of my son when he was born. And we had to replace our carpet in our family room due to "accidents". Need I say more! But if my parents couldn't take her, I wouldn't have been able to give her away! I don't know what I would have done!! Oh, well, enough rambling, onto my card!!

The little kitten was printed out of Print Shop. Love this software program! All the papers are by Pink Paislee. I printed the Happy Halloween onto cardstock using MS Word. Then I added some gingham ribbon, crocheted ribbon, hemp cord, button and some Martha Stewart Punched Branches.

Hope you are having a Fab weekend!!

Hugs, Melissa

Happy Fall Ya'll! {and a special thank you!}

Another card I made using that cute Pumpkin and Corn stamp from The Rubber Cafe. I can't stop using it! Maybe because I have 3 cornstalks and about 20 pumpkins in the front of my home! Love this time of year! Have I mentioned that before???! LOL

I used alot of Bazzill Basics cardstock on this one and that adorable leaf and glitter paper is by Best Creation. I cut out the scalloped circles with my deco edge scissors(that's why they aren't perfect, but that's ok). Added alot of white dots with my Marvy Uchida Paint marker and the colorful branches were made with my Martha Stewart branch punch. I added some little leaf stamps and a little pumpkin by Inque Boutique too. And of course, alot of glitter added to my stamped images as well.

Hope you like it!

And would you look at all this RAK that Michelle McClung from ScrapStreet.com sent me for winning her sketch contest!! WOW! I couldn't believe it when I !opened the box and saw all this! And she even made me the cutest card You ROCK Michelle! Thank you very much again!!

Have a great weekend!
